The last 18km of dirt road is not in a very good condition and has become a little sandy in a couple of places. Do not stop in the sand and keep your speed up. Please allow for a little extra travelling time on this road. Although a 4x4 is not necessary a vehicle with slightly higher ground clearance is recommended.

When entering your destination into Google Maps from Vaalwater, travel via Little Serengeti, Lephalale & Giesendam Plaas, to get the correct route.
Please note that your GPS might direct you the slightly shorter way towards Melkrivier when you enter Vaalwater. Please don’t go this way as the road is currently not suitable for low cars and we recommend you go the other way as explained above. Some GPS’s might also tell you to turn right onto the Dorset road off the R33, please rather continue to the next turnoff to Visgat.
